MVC front-end

Jul 26, 2010 at 6:18 AM

I have a pretty slick front-end for the dynamic forms solution in MVC, that demonstrates a form being built, stored, retrieved, and responded to in a database. Is it worth posting/relating to this solution, or does something like that already exist?

heck yeah!  I for one would love to see it.

I'd love to see it too.

OK--I will clean it up for redistribution and get a link posted in here soon. I am glad it will help... I guess I thought this already existed. I really appreciate this project (dynamic forms are mandatory to most applications beyond easily predictable CRUD), so am happy to give back. More soon!

In another project that implements this project, I use a windows form application for building the dynamic form field definitions that get stored in a database. I have planned to create a web interface for this. Just haven't had the time.

It's ready for a test-run ... http://mvcdynamicformsgui.codeplex.com/

Let me know how it goes!

I think my next things to add will be data export (PDF and CSV), stylesheet management (any tips here?), and moving all my sloppy direct-to-entity-framework ;) into a domain model. Any other ideas? How much do you see the core component of MVC Dynamic Forms changing?

Also--if you get a chance, and think it's worth doing--you can add my project as a related project to yours in the CodePlex settings. I did that to link to yours. It might draw better visibility to the front-end.
