TextArea and commas

EDIT: Please ignore the comment below. I am a complete idiot and the split was coming from my code...not yours.

Hey Ronnie,

I ran into a situation that I wasn't expecting. Whenever I use the text area, if the user inputs commas into the text, method on the form that gets responses treats the comma like a delimiter and makes multiple responses for the text. For example, if the user put in apples, oranges, and pears three separate responses are created for the questions as

1. apples

2. oranges

3. and pears

Is that by design? Is there a way to suppress that? Users commonly put commas in their text responses.

Thanks in advance.

Ken
